GUTEN TAG RAMON

This film was very interesting because it is a reality we live every day in different borders with the United States, and I can say I felt identified because it is something you hear very often in Tijuana. But what caught my attention was when Ramon decides to go to Germany because they say that "there was no migra", but it is obvious that there is one.It is very curious how everything is accommodating to what Ramon needs, because in the beginning of his stay in Germany is very difficult as going to survive because you can not find the person who was going to help. After a while, as good Mexican (I think) does what its wit tells to get ahead, which is very noticeable in the scene where the German homeless is furious because Ramon makes more money than him.
A highlight of the film is how we all have a concept of very general illegal migration, which we believe is tossing a coin toss because there are too many obstacles and the citizens of that country will not receive us in good shape, but this is where all Ramon knows we're surprised when an elderly which only helps because he sees all the suffering Ramón projects, no matter who can not communicate verbally, but here is when you realize the importance of body language plays.

The added value of the tape is just the summary of the above: speaking of borders without necessarily being persued by border patrols; Think of borders without the idea of an instant picture of people running for their lives or trying to survive to the extreme weathers. We need to stop that taboo, and instead of trying to kill people for being ilegal inmigrants, create some new oportunities for those who have the dream to become something.

MIGRATION

Migration is a topic that is heard and seen every day. What I can tell you from personal experience, since I am from Tijuana, which has the busiest border around the world with San Diego, California. It's amazing how it becomes a matter of our daily lives, because without realizing it, those people who tried to cross to reach the "American dream" or who are on a lark become part of the "normal" population of the city.

 It is also interesting to us that have grown in the same city and see how people is becoming a mixture of different cultures, there comes a point where we became just one. It is very common to meet people from different countries, especially from Latin America, because there are several generations that have grown up in the city from those people who ever tried to cross into the United States.

Just as there are many interesting and positive points, there are the negative ones, where we can watch the overcrowding is increasing every year, as well as increasing the homeless people, which at some point if these people can not get ahead, they end up staying in the street and begin to increase crime rates in the city. I want to clarify that I am not saying that all people attempting to cross the US are criminals, but if it's something you notice. But as I said earlier, there are also positive things about these people and I know quite a few outsiders who have managed to get ahead with their own business and now they are well recognized in the city.

BUSINESS AND STEREOTRYPES

It's kind of difficult to not stereotype anyone or anything before we met them. I think it's something we are taught from childhood, therefore it becomes a bad habit.
Stereotypes could be considered as a form of discrimination which society is very used to by the very fact that explained above that we all grow with it. We need to realize that from the first contact with someone or something we began a personal analysis in our minds according to experience or knowledge acquired in the past, where we can find points as way she/he walks, how she/he talks, how she/he dresses, what's the first impression, etc.

 Otherwise we have ethnocentrism, which is to judge other cultures only by the values and customs that have a culture or country; it is very easy for US citizens to judge and create stereotypes of Mexicans they've seen on television or simply by what they have heard from others. It also happens in Mexico, when Mexicans themselves judge and stereotype people from other states or from different cultures, by the way they talk, dress, or dialects they communicate.
